Charlottesville, VA - More than 340 people attended Super Saturday, an annual event sponsored by the Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, to help college-bound students of all ages complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
For those unable to attend Super Saturday, there is still time to apply for financial aid for the 2012-13 academic year that begins at PVCC in August. Students are encouraged to complete and file the FAFSA before Saturday, March 31, for the maximum amount of aid. Although applications are accepted at any time, preference is given to those who apply and file their FAFSA before the March 31 deadline. Information about applying for the FAFSA is available at www.pvcc.edu/financial_aid.
In addition, PVCC's Educational Foundation is currently accepting applications for scholarships for study in the 2012-13 academic year. Each year, the PVCC Educational Foundation offers nearly 100 scholarships with a total value of approximately $200,000 to qualified PVCC students. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is Friday, March 9, for all applicants except those in the high school graduating class of 2012. The deadline for those students is Friday, May 4. More information about PVCC Educational Foundation scholarships is available at www.pvcc.edu/scholarships.
