Thomas Ruggeri joined the Piedmont Virginia Community College Information Technologies staff in August of 2005 as Manager of Network Services where he was directly responsible for Network and Telephone configuration and infrastructure. He also administered the Exchange and File servers. Thomas has recently taken the position of College Information Security Office and as such is responsible for the security and continued operation of the College network. Prior to coming to Piedmont, Thomas worked for UPS as a Senior Technician and was responsible for installing and maintaining their hardware and software systems. He has certifications from Cisco, Microsoft and CompTIA in Network Administration, Security and Server Administration. Before entering the IT field, Thomas was a Police Officer for 20 years, serving with the New York City and Garden City Police Departments.
