Summer Career Camp Academies for 7th -9th graders are week-long camps that give students an in-depth and hands-on look at careers. In 2009, campers enjoyed field trips to the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad, the University of Virginia Medical Center, NBC29 and the U.Va. Dept. of Computer Science. Faculty and staff from PVCC, U.Va., the Red Cross and Computers 4 Kids worked with students to teach them some of the skills they will need in these careers.
In summer 2010, we will expand the Summer Career Camp Academies program by also offering camps in Construction Technologies and Engineering. Camps take place June 21-25 and June 28-July 2. Registration begins March 1 and remains open until camps are filled. Partial (need-based) scholarships are available.
