The University of Virginia hosts a Career EXPO for all students in the 7th grade each fall. The Career EXPO, sponsored by the Central Virginia Tech Prep Consortium and PIEDMONT FUTURES, as well as the schools of Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Greene and Nelson, provides 2000 students with the opportunity to explore hands-on exhibits related to careers, post-secondary education and training, and employment options.

Students also participate in an interactive presentation on Workplace Readiness Skills and the importance of maximizing high school opportunities, including preparing for and accessing college and technical programs.

We begin recruiting businesses to host a table at the Expo, as well as speakers for the Workplace Readiness Skills presentations, early each fall.
