During the 10th Grade Career Day at Piedmont Virginia Community College, students learn about careers and the education and training required for success. Students hear from two different speakers in career areas of interest for 45 minutes each. More than 125 area business professionals serve as presenters in the career sessions. The event serves over 2,000 10th Graders from the schools of Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Greene and Nelson.
This year, the 10th Grade Career Day will take place March 14 & 15, 2013. Speakers are needed in over 30 different career areas, including Architect, Business & Finance, Chef, Construction Careers, Engineer, Health Careers, Information Technology, Mental Health, Music Careers, Nurse, Photography, Police Science, TV Broadcasting and Veterinary Science. Time commitment for presenters is 1-2 hours. A light breakfast or lunch is provided for speakers.
