During the 10th Grade Career Day at Piedmont Virginia Community College, students learn about career areas and the education and training required for success. When students arrive at PVCC, they hear from two speakers in career areas of their choice for 45 minutes each. Area business professionals serve as presenters at the seminars.
Career Day 2010, held March 18 & 19, was a huge success! 2,100 10th Graders from the following high schools attended: Albemarle, Western Albemarle, Monticello, Murray, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Nelson and William Monroe. Over the two days, there were 137 speakers filling 243 sessions, speaking about 56 different careers.
Thank you Business Community for sharing your personal stories and guidance to shape the career goals of young people. We could have not done it without you!
