Planning and PVCC

Planning at PVCC is guided by the College's mission.  The planning process is coordinated by the Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness. Leadership for planning is provided by the college's Planning and Budgeting Committee which oversees development and periodic review of the Strategic Plan, and ensures a linkage between strategic planning and budgeting by recommending annual funding levels for strategic priorities.

Strategic Plan

The 2008 PVCC Strategic Plan addresses five institutional priorities: [1] Provide Expanded Access, [2] Create a Student-Centered Environment, [3] Ensure Transfer Success, [4] Support Economic Vitality and Workforce Development, and [5] Address Infrastructure Needs.

Strategic Initiative Proposals and Priorities

Want to start a new initiative? Serve our students in a different way? Equip your classroom, center, lab, or studio? Develop your staff? Pilot a program? Add faculty or staff positions in your department? Hold on to those great ideas and submit them during the Strategic Initiative Proposal Process.

Initiatives for 08-09 were reviewed by the Planning and Budgeting Committee and recommendations for funding priority were sent to the President in April. In July, proposal authors received information about the funding status of their proposals. Instructions and proposal forms for 2009-10 will be available in February 2009.

Annual Planning

Annual unit plans reflect the shorter-term work at the department/division level necessary to achieve institutional goals. All 2007-08 PVCC Annual Unit Plans must be completed in WEAVEonline. Complete 08-09 Unit Plans are due June 30, 2009. For assistance, please contact weave@pvcc.edu

Working Calendar

PVCC also utilizes a Working Calendar for managing important annual administrative tasks.
