Printing in Computer Lab 832 and Library
The printing system in the Computing Lab 832 (and Jessup Library) is a combination Copier/Printer provided by Xerox. The cost is 5¢ per page.
The basics steps in printing are as follows:
- Send your print job to the printer using the default printer on your computer. This should be the Xerox DocuCenter 420. This prints black and white only.
- Note your computer number before you go to the printer. You will use this to find your print job from the job list on the printer.
- To activate the printer, you will need to insert money or a copy card (available via a vending machine in the Computing Lab and Library) sufficient in value to complete the job. If you use a copy card, you may add money to it at any time, up to $20.
- The list of printer jobs should be displayed on the touch panel of the printer. It is best to scroll to the BOTTOM of the list and look for your print job, since most recent jobs are listed last. Your print job should be identified by your machine number. Press the line with your print job. You should see a detail of your job and a "release" soft-button on the screen. Press this release button and your job should print. When finished, you can get remaining change from the money/copy card counter by pressing the change plunger or the white button on the card reader.
