General
Statement
As a key
component of PVCC’s student services division, the
Outreach and Enrollment Services Manager will oversee all
outreach and recruitment functions within the Welcome
Center, including Dual Enrollment, Career Coaching, and
general Outreach and Recruitment activities.
Reference and

background checks are required.
Duties and
Responsibilities
-
Oversee all outreach and recruitment functions in the
Welcome Center and Dual Enrollment and Career Coaching
within local high schools.

Integrate Dual Enrollment, Career Coaching, and other
outreach and recruitment activities in to a strategic
Outreach and enrollment plan.
-
Supervise Dual Enrollment Coordinator, Career Coach
Supervisor, and other college personnel that perform
outreach and recruitment functions.
-
Coordinate communication to the internal PVCC community
about Welcome Center services.
-
Coordinate three outreach and recruitment events each
year: PVCC’s Spring Fling, the Counselor’s Workshop, and
the Super Saturday Financial Aid Event.

Coordinate with other members of the PVCC community on
special outreach and enrollment initiatives (i.e.
Charlottesville Taskforce, Boys and Girls Club “Life
After High School” program, Electronics, IT, and CADD
recruitment, etc.).

Identify target markets that will help build overall
college enrollment.

Collaborate with Grants Writer to identify grant
opportunities that will help fund strategic initiatives
used to increase overall college enrollment.
- Serve
on the management team that advises the Dean of Student
Services on outreach, recruitment, and registration
activities.

Collaborate with the Marketing and Media Relations
Manager to evaluate, improve, and develop new marketing
and recruitment strategies to help increase PVCC’s
overall student enrollment, including degree-seeking
students (high school/home school and adult) and
students taking classes for personal enrichment.

Collaborate with the Marketing and Media Relations
Manager to improve print and web marketing materials
that reflect the new PVCC brand and effectively
communicate educational opportunities and the enrollment
process to PVCC students.
- Work
with staff to ensure all Welcome Center visitors receive
exceptional customer service.

Troubleshoot all problems that affect student access and
enrollment (both technical problems in PeopleSoft and
overall systems/process roadblocks).

Participate in the SWAT Team to address PeopleSoft
issues regarding enrollment and registration.

Create, monitor, and refine an overall comprehensive
communication plan for all prospective and new students.

Collaborate with the Coordinator of Counseling and
Career Services to ensure a successful registration
process for PVCC students.
- Track
phone, e-mail, and person-to-person interaction in the
Welcome Center. Create monthly and quarterly reports
detailing the student and staff interaction.
Collaborate with the Registrar to predict and address
emerging issues and/or expanded student needs.

Collaborate with the Financial Aid Coordinator to fully
incorporate financial aid planning in to the Recruitment
and enrollment process.
- Manage
the Outreach and Recruitment budget.

Supervise and train a group of students to work in the
Welcome Center.

Represent PVCC at VCCS meetings regarding outreach and
recruitment functions.
- Work
with high school counselors, teachers, and Career
Coaches to develop appropriate strategies to increase
percentage of high school students that enroll at PVCC.
- Work
with agencies, organizations, and employers in the
service area to develop appropriate strategies to
increase percentage of adults that enroll at PVCC.

Develop a strategic and comprehensive system that will
provide necessary communication to inquiries and also
track inquiries through the enrollment process.

Provide informational sessions about PVCC to businesses
and community groups in an effort to educate the
community about PVCC’s programs and enrollment
processes. Work with the Financial Aid Coordinator to
make sure the information sessions include information
regarding to financial aid.

Coordinate PVCC employees’ participation in community
events, including county fairs, high school events,
employer education fairs, and others as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have Bachelor’s
Degree and experience in a higher education environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates must have
excellent oral and written communication skills with special
emphasis on public speaking skills and ability to make
effective presentations. This position also demands strong
technological skills, proven commitment to customer service,
strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a
diverse and changing community college population.
Approximate
Salary Range:
$38,000 - $46,000
