General Statement: Piedmont Virginia Community College invites applications for the position of Director of Information Technology/Chief Information Officer (CIO). The CIO reports directly to the President and is a member of the college’s executive leadership team. The CIO will provide strategy, vision, leadership, and advocacy for developing and implementing information technology (IT) initiatives that improve the effectiveness of all college services. The CIO will lead in strategic planning, budgeting and implementation of information systems to support administrative, academic, and telecommunications operations. The CIO will work closely with academic and administrative leaders and faculty in identifying and promoting opportunities for current and emerging technologies to support excellence in teaching and to improve services for students, faculty, and staff. Duties and Responsibilities:
Education and Work Experience: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field and significant IT experience, preferably in higher education. Successful track record working with internal and external constituencies (including vendors) required. Experience with PeopleSoft Student Information System or a similar product is desirable. Knowledge and Skills: This position requires skills in leadership; management; communications; and knowledge of best practices in networking, information systems, desktop support, process engineering and customer service. Salary: Salary and Benefits:This is a twelve-month administrative faculty appointment reporting to the President. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications in accordance with VCCS policy. Salary range is $80,000-95,000. Application Process:
