POSITION TITLE:  Fall 2008

  Instructors needed for:

  • Surgical Technology - weekday skills lab for beginning students

Qualifications:

 

3 years recent occupational experience and current CST certification required.

  • Emergency Medical Services - evening Trauma class

Qualifications:

Required:  NREMT-P certification, at least three years recent ALS field experience and current active member in a volunteer or career agency.

Preferred:  5 years experience as ALS provider and Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medical Services or related field

 

  • Mathematics - Developmental

 

Qualifications:

 

A minimum of a Bachelors in Mathematics is required for Developmental Mathematics.

 

  • General Biology Lab - multiple sections available
  • Microbiology Lab - multiple sections available

 

Qualifications:

 

Faculty requirements for General Biology Lab and Microbiology Lab are a master's degree in teaching field or master's degree with 18 graduate course hours in teaching field.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities for Adjunct Position: 

  • Teaching & Advising

  • Teach a specified number of hours each week per semester as assigned – may include day and evening sections, on- and off-campus, and distance learning technologies

  • Maintain at least 1 office hour weekly per course taught

  • Evaluate course instruction in accordance with established policy

  • Advise students in course selection and curricular requirements

  • Participate when applicable and practical in co-curricular activities

In exceptional cases, outstanding professional experience and demonstrated contributions to the teaching field may be presented in lieu of formal academic preparation for any of the categories shown above. Exceptions must be fully justified on an individual basis. Such justification will be made in writing by the appropriate division dean and endorsed in writing by the VP of Instruction and Student Services.
