The maximum length of time that you can receive financial aid at PVCC is 150 percent of the total number of credit hours that are required for you to earn your particular degree or certificate at PVCC. All credit hours transferred in and all credit hours attempted at another Virginia Community College are included in the calculation, even if you did not previously receive financial aid.
Example: Your degree program at PVCC requires that you complete 65 credit hours to graduate. 65 X 1.5 (150%) = 97.5 credit hours. All credit hours attempted, whether earned or not, count toward the maximum length of time that you can receive financial aid.
Developmental Classes
You may receive financial aid for only 30 credit hours of developmental classes, regardless of whether you previously received aid. When you reach the maximum number of credit hours allowed under this policy, your financial aid eligibility for developmental classes terminates. You may still be eligible for financial aid for other classes.
All credit hours transferred in and all credit hours attempted at another Virginia Community College are included in the 30-credit-hours maximum, even if you did not previously receive financial aid.
