The purpose of the Curriculum and Instruction Committee is:

  1. Works in conjunction with and advises the Vice President for Instruction and Student Services, who is ex-officio
  2. Reviews and makes recommendations to the Vice President for Instruction and Student Services on all courses and curricular proposals, involving new, revised and discontinued courses and curricula.
  3. Reviews policy and procedure and makes recommendations to the Senate regarding the following areas:
    1. Program review and evaluation
    2. Developmental studies
    3. International/intercultural activities
    4. Honors
    5. Tutoring & Learning (the Library, Media Services, the Learning Center, the galleries)
    6. Quality of teaching and teaching-related issues such as attendance
    7. Academic freedom
    8. Scholarship and research
    9. The academic calendar
    10. Faculty evaluation
  4. Reviews and makes recommendations to the Senate on all polices and procedures of an instructional and/or curricular nature

  • 3 Academic Deans
  • Coordinator of Library Services
  • Dean of Workforce Services
  • 9 teaching faculty (3 from each academic division)
  • 1 classified staff
  • 1 counselor
  • 2 students
  • Vice President for Instruction and Student Services, ex-officio
