The purpose of the Curriculum and Instruction Committee is:
- Works in conjunction with and advises the Vice President for Instruction and Student Services, who is ex-officio
- Reviews and makes recommendations to the Vice President for Instruction and Student Services on all courses and curricular proposals, involving new, revised and discontinued courses and curricula.
- Reviews policy and procedure and makes recommendations to the Senate regarding the following areas:
- Program review and evaluation
- Developmental studies
- International/intercultural activities
- Honors
- Tutoring & Learning (the Library, Media Services, the Learning Center, the galleries)
- Quality of teaching and teaching-related issues such as attendance
- Academic freedom
- Scholarship and research
- The academic calendar
- Faculty evaluation
- Reviews and makes recommendations to the Senate on all polices and procedures of an instructional and/or curricular nature
Membership
- 3 Academic Deans
- Coordinator of Library Services
- Dean of Workforce Services
- 9 teaching faculty (3 from each academic division)
- 1 classified staff
- 1 counselor
- 2 students
- Vice President for Instruction and Student Services, ex-officio
