AFC (Adjunct Faculty Council)

The Piedmont Virginia Community College Adjunct Faculty Council was created in the Fall of 2002 by the Vice President for Instruction and Student Services. It is an outgrowth of an earlier Adjunct Faculty survey. The purpose of the Council is to serve as a conduit of information and concerns between the College's two hundred plus Adjunct Faculty and the Administration. Its membership consist of one Adjunct Faculty member representing each of the four academic divisions and several at-large members appointed each Fall by the Vice President

The Council normally meets once a month and discussed issues and concerns presented by Adjunct Faculty, Council members and the Vice President. On occasion the Vice President will attend a meeting, but normally the Council chairperson and vice chairperson review the Council minutes with the Vice President a week or so after the meeting. Minutes are also provided electronically to all Adjunct Faculty, the Faculty Professional Association and the College Senate.

Any and all Adjunct Faculty are invited and encouraged, to attend Council meetings. Council members may be reached individually, electronically and at adjunctcouncil@pvcc.edu.
