Follow the steps below to enroll as a former student. All of these steps may not be necessary. We encourage you to contact our Academic Advisors for direction on which steps are necessary and to ensure that you are in the proper program of study.

Step 1: Submit an application to PVCC if it has been more than 3 years since you were enrolled.
Apply online now. After completing your application to PVCC, you will receive a student ID number and user name on your confirmation page. Please be sure to print this page or write down this information. |

Step 2: Make an appointment with an Admissions Advisor to begin enrollment process if it has been more than 3 years since you enrolled.
Our mission is to help you meet your educational goals. The enrollment process at PVCC involves a series of steps and decisions that are necessary to ensure your success as a student. In order for us to serve your needs, we recommend that you attend a Getting Started Workshop or make an appointment with one of the Admissions Advisors listed below:

Step 3: Apply for financial aid.
We encourage all degree and certificate-seeking students to apply for financial aid. Financial aid may come in the form of grants, scholarships, loans and work-study positions. The first step is to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online at FAFSA. To obtain your maximum eligibility, it is best to complete the FAFSA prior to March 31 of the attending year, but you may apply after this date, too. Visit Financial Aid for more information.

Step 4: Send official transcripts.
This is only necessary if you want to receive credit for previously completed coursework obtained outside the Virginia Community College System. Send to:

Only students entering the allied health programs (i.e. nursing, surgical tech. and emergency medical services) need to send high school transcripts. |

Step 5: Take placement assessments if you have not already taken them or if it has been more than 5 years.
Students planning to pursue a degree at PVCC that require math or English courses must take placement assessments. These assessments are given in the Learning Center located in room 607 in the Main Building. There is no charge. Visit Tutoring & Learning for testing hours.

Step 6: Meet with a counselor to finalize your academic plan.
Counselors will evaluate assessment results and help you choose appropriate classes. Call the Counseling Center at 434.961.5264 or e-mail counseling@pvcc.edu to schedule an appointment. Also, if you are a student with a documented disability requiring classroom accomodations, please inform the administrative assistant when calling.

Step 7: Register for classes online using MyPVCC.

Step 8: Pay for your classes.
Tuition can be paid online through MyPVCC or may be paid at the Cashier's Office located in room 237 in PVCC's Main Building.
