Distance Learning

The instructional design and technology department is committed to working with instructors to develop high quality courses designed to enhance student content knowledge.  Online education is combined with current technologies to develop effective web-enriched courses.  These online courses allow PVCC to offer both faculty and students innovative educational opportunities.  The instructional design and technology department supports both students and faculty in both traditional and online classes.

PVCC hosts a number of distance learning courses where students are not required to physically come to campus to complete the courses.  These distance learning courses accommodate all students no matter their schedule or obligations. Distance learning courses at PVCC have been designed to facilitate a community of learners and foster a high level of educational development.

Distance Learning provides the student with:

  1. Flexibility
  2. Application of Real World Technology Skills
  3. Individualized Attention
  4. Scheduling

The distance learning courses offered at PVCC include accounting, art and dance, biology, business, communications, English, health care, history, foreign language and much more! Check out the Class Schedule to search for online classes that fit your interest and needs.

*Note: any courses with a section number of .90 - .99 are Shared Distance Courses (SSDL). For more information on that program, click here.

Before taking any distance learning courses, every student must take the Distance Learning Orientation.
